Student Financial Aid Options
How do college students survive financially?
Ok, we came for this issue and take a short story:
“I am still in high school, but when I graduate it will be 5 years before I can start the career I want (4 years of college, and 1 yr of apprenticeship) and I am so worried about how I am going to be able to live off a part time job. How do you guys do it?”
The Answer:
Just face it and please don’t worry about it.
All of us had to survive off of financial aid and part time jobs during our college and graduate years. Even people are in graduate school and still have to live off financial aid. The important thing is to find your Student Financial Aid Options. There are a few types of financial aid:
- Student Scholarships: usually based on merit and need and you don’t have to pay it back
- Student Grants: usually based on need and you don’t have to pay it back
- Student Loans: money loaned to you and you have to pay it back when you graduate and start your career!
- Work study: money given to you for working on campus and you don’t pay this back of course.
- Part Time Jobs: you can start to look into the real world and trying your ability and skill. Go find a suitable part time jobs that can be arranged for your education schedules. Come on, most people also do the same thing…
So between these different options you will be able to survive. Don’t stress, just try to do best in school and it will all pay off when you graduate and you will be able to pay back all your loans, etc. Also if you do really well you can earn scholarships so you will have less money to pay back.
